Forest Glade Team Sigma Broking Vs Mornington Boys (Home)

Coach Mike has done a great job at reporting out the Forest Glade Team Serendipity training game against Hullbridge earlier today. So I won't add much more to this other than a few extra pictures which I have.

Ellis makes a great save as captain Sam provides added protection from the oncoming attacker.

Half time team talks from the gaffer.

Great action shot of George taking a corner.

Team Serendipity on the attack.

Action shot of Lenny making a run.

The match finishes and Tearm Serendipity give 3 cheers to Hullbridge.

Coach Stuart with Man of the Match, George.
So in the second game today the Forest Glade Under 6's fielded a mixed team against close rivals from Canvey Island - The Mornington Boys. The first problem of the day was that both teams play in a very similar colour blue and so Team Sigma Broking from Forest Glade sported some red bibs to distinguish between the two teams. Anyway the team played a great game and came away with a well deserved 5:2 win (2 goals to Alex, 2 goals to Ethan and 1 goal to Ryan). Man of the Match went to Ethan who had an outstanding game playing in attach in the first half and in defence in the second half. He listened to the coaches and delivered on everything we asked from him. Our message from yesterdays training seemed to get through as there was only one incident of the ball being played across our own goal following the goal keepers throw out.

Ethan on a run with Alfie and Alex running ahead in support.

As good as Ethan is he also has a habit of hitting the deck quite frequently!! Joshua and Darcy holding the back line.

Alfie moves in on the ball whilst Joshua marks his man.

Alex celebrates one of his goals with a knee slide.

And then a whole body slide in the mud!!! Bagsy not washing that football kit!!!!
In mixing up the teams and trying new players / combinations, Mantos played in today's game. During the first half he played in goal which was  areal learning experience as he has not really done much goal keeping and was not even aware of the goal area etc. However he did a great job and made a few good saves. In the second half we swapped goal keepers as Darcy stepped up to the role allowing Mantos some time out on the field.

Mantos got stuck in to the game and played his part for the team.

Mantons makes a run up pitch,

Alex on another one of his blinding runs down the wing holding off the Mornington boys.

Great shot of Ryan taking a corner kick.

Man of the Match, Ethan in action.

Team Sigma Broking L-R : Ethan, Alex, Ryan, Alfie, Darcy, Mantos and Joshua.

Man of the Match for great attacking and defencive play, listening to the coaches - Ethan.

The weather still isn't really favourable for these weekend games and all the kids do well to get up and play in these wet, muddy and windy conditions. After a hard mornings work out on the pitch and two good results then it is only fair that the kids can sit down to enjoy a hot chocolate with a bacon roll or hot dog!!!

Ellis, Sam, Owen, Joshua and Brandon enjoying a well earnt post match drink and snack.
Anyway no rest for the boys as we have another fixture next week for 3 teams playing away at UPR. After that I think we have a well earnt break for a week or 2 with no training games currently scheduled.
