Over the last month or so we have been trying to get the
coaches profiles all uploaded onto the blog (I know we are still waiting for
Lee and Stuart!!!). One things that we wanted to make all the parents aware of
and appreciate is that the Forest Glade coaches are all volunteers and receive
absolutely no commercial compensation for running the Forest Glade Under 6’s.
All of the yearly subs get paid directly to the club to pay for the grounds,
club house etc and like you we pay full fees for our own children as well. In fact most of the coaches probably do this at a financial
loss given that we are paying for things like medals, training equipment and in
extreme cases even FA certification out of our own pockets.
All of the coaches put in a significant amount of time and
effort in phoning around organising matches, planning and supporting training
sessions, knocking on doors for sponsorship, team selections and so on. All of the calls, texts etc come from our own personal contacts/phones. It can
be hard work at times as we all have day jobs (some with unsociable hours) and we all have our own family life to
juggle in addition to coaching duties. We put in all this effort and
time because we are passionate about football and find it very rewarding
coaching the children and seeing their progress.
Please keep the above in mind and work with the coaches for
the future of the children. If you are dissatisfied in anyway, be it with team
selections, quality of training, health and safety or anything else – please
come and talk to us. We have the kids bests interests at heart and all want the
very best for them. As a final comment I would like to say we are not perfect but we are learning and trying to improve all of the time. Recently we have received a lot of positive feedback regarding our structure and set-up both internally from Forest Glade and externally from other clubs we have played. This indicates that we are heading in the right direction and are starting to lead the way rather than following what others are doing.
